Sorry it’s a bit late - but I’d like to wish a Happy New Year to you all.
This is quite a busy year for me so far. Today in the UK, Australia, Canada, new Zealand, etc. the third book of the Destiny’s Path Series is coming out.
For those who don’t know, Destiny’s Path is the UK version of the Warrior Princess series - with a few small edits (by me - just to put a few little things right) and a slightly different cover. But readers of Warrior Princess will know it by its American title: Warrior Princess: The Emerald Flame.
Well, now it’s called Destiny’s Path: Merion Of The Stones. Pretty much the same book, except with a new title.
The really exiting thing about these new editions is that it will finally allow the fourth book in the Warrior Princess series to see the light of day. This will be in April - just four months away. This 4th book has never been published in America - the American publishers of Warrior Princess decided three books about Branwen and co was enough. Emails I’ve received from many readers suggest they don’t necessarily agree with that opinion - so they will be delighted, I hope, to finally get their hands on this 4th book - almost 20 months after its original publication date. I will definitely be posting a competition when this book comes out - the lucky winners will get signed copies of the book, hot off the presses - so that’s worth looking out for.
Also in april, the third of The Six Crowns books will be coming out in America - it’s called Fire Over Swallowhaven, and anyone wanting to know more, can check it out at www.thesixcrowns.com.
I’m still busy with my new spy-boy series: Codename Quicksilver. I’m in the middle of book four right now, and the hero Zak Archer has just been fighting some spies on top of the Eiffel Tower, which was good fun to write. He has now arrived in venice on the Orient Express, but his enemies are closing in on him. I’m a real sucker for old James Bond movies, so this series has been great fun to write.
I am still really hoping to write that Faerie Path short story I’ve been talking about for months. Please bear with me on this - I’m just waiting for the work-load to go down a bit so that I have time to get it written. There’s no more news yet on the audio versions of the Faerie Path books, but I’ll let you know as soon as I hear of any movement on that.
I hope you all have a great year in 2012 - I certainly intend to!
Happy new year to u too! and i really love the faerie path series. what is the warrior princesses series about? is it sort of like the Faerie path? or is it completely different but still fantasy based thanks!
AFJ. Hello there Celeste - Warrior Princess is also full of fantasy - but not in a different realm - it is about a girl in the 6th Century who becomes involved with a powerful group of ancient beings called The Shining Ones. If you check out the Books page here, and investigate the Destiny’s Path/Warrior Princess pages, you’ll get a better idea. Lots of people who liked Faerie have also told me they like Warrior Princess.
I love the warrior princess series and faerie path but acctualy i think i like the warrior princess series better
So, I was wondering if in the US we’ll be able to get Caradoc of the Wind? Without having to pay outrageous shipping and taxes that is. I really wish to finish the series and see where it ends. So, what do you think?
AFJ. Tayler - I’m afraid I’ve been unable to convince the American Publishers to issue the 4th Warrior Princess book. The decision to stop publishing the series prematurely in the US was made without my involvement, and I have no way to change the situation. However, there are two possible bright sides to this: 1) the book will be available in Canada, and so may be reasonably easy to buy from there, 2) I certainly plan on a competition on this site to coincide with the publication of the 4th book in Britain, and the prizes will be free signed copies to all winners.
Hey mr. Jones I just wanted to know if there is going to be a next book on the warrior princess series??
There is a fourth book in the series - but it will not be published in America - please read the blog and you’ll find out more. It will be published in Britain, Australia, Canada New Zealand etc in April this year, and it will be called Destiny’s Path - Caradoc of the North Wind.
Just finished reading the emerald flame. Cannot wait for the next book to come out. Love this series
Can we still enter the competitions if we are in America?
AFJ. SMK - yes, absolutely, you can! I’m happy to mail signed books to anywhere in the world - but hurry up, stocks of spare books are going down rapidly!
hey i loved the faerie path books. You should check out ************ because I think she is copying your books because there is a Queen Titania and a King Oberon in it
AFJ. Adrienne - thanks for your comment - the truth is I didn’t invent the idea of King Oberon and Queen Titania - they were first named as King and Queen of Faerie several centuries ago - I got the names from a William Shakespeare play. The author you mentioned probably got the names from the same place.
I have read every single book in your faerie path series I am wondering if you plan on writing more to the series. I absolutely love the books and would enjoy reading more. I am an extremely huge fan of the series and think you are a brilliant author. I read all the books in the series in 3 day(Speed reader) I am truely look forward to more Faerie Path books.
AFJ. Hello there Brenda. Thank you for your comment. I’m afraid there are no plans at the moment for more than the 6 books - for the full version of what is happening, check out the Archives section at the right hand side of the Blog main page. Go to July 2011 and read the blog called “Faerie Path - The Latest”. Things have not really changed much since then, except that I have been told there is to be an audio version.
Allan Thankyou so much for clearing that up for me. I will be looking forward to the novella if you decide to write it and in the mean time I will start reading your other books. Thankyou again so much.
