Hi there! Some of you may have noticed mention of a special promotion that the publishers of The Faerie Path series are working on right now.
They have given me the following URL, so you might like to check it out:
Also, there’s more stuff on: http://seaofpages.blogspot.com
The seaofpages blog suggests that the book being given as a prize will be a signed copy - but I’m not sure that’s correct - Harper Collins the publishers certainly haven’t asked me to sign any for them. Anyway - if any of you guys win the book, get in touch with me by sending a message from the Contact page, and I’ll arrange for you to send me the book for signing.
yes i am a girl. (unless i have this whole biology thing wrong) =D
Allan - Who says “shall” anymore? Sry….. and i call girls guys all the time… lol
AFJ. Shall isn’t a cool word anymore? No one tells me anything! Nevertheless, I do feel it incumbent upon me in my role as a scribe to support the upkeep of archaic words - and shall is one of my favourites, so I shall keep on using it every now and then to try and keep it alive. (I speak as the president of the SAD - “Shall Appreciation Directorate”).
i still use shall.
AFJ. Daniela - way to go!
nevertheless……incumbent…..archaic…… DICTIONARY!
I *SHALL* try 2 use the word *SHALL* more once i find out wat incumbent means…
AFJ. Aimee - way to go! When I was a teenager I read a really great fantasty book called Titus Groan - and I had to read the whole book with a dictionary at my elbow, and I had to look up a new word on almost every page. But perhaps behaving like that is one of the reasons I ended up being a writer, huh?
aimee- hey i love using those words too =D i like confusing the popular kids with them. =D
allan- titus groan huh? even the title sounds like a fantasy, i LOVE fantasy it take me off somewhere. one of the main reasons i love this book. did you read that book for a class project or just for fun? and a good writer you are allan =D
AFJ. Daniela - when I was about 14 years old people at my school were divided into two camps - those that thought The Lord of the Rings was the best fantasy book in the world ever - and those who thought Titus Groan was the best fantasy book in the world ever. I thought both books were totally amazing - so the answer is, I read it for fun! BUT it is a very very different kind of fantasy to Lord of the Rings - so I recommend anyone interested in reading it should find out a bit about the story first - or you might be disappointed. No dragons. No elves. No dwarfs. No goblins. No magic. No wizards. Just a bunch of very weird people all living in a very weird castle - and the need for a dictionary to understand the language!
=O ohhhhhh wow. hahahaha i wonder if they still sell that book…… no dragons no elves no dwarfs no magic, nada… hmmmm interesting awww man now i wanna read it! =D
dictionary…
my world history teacher told me 2 read a book called A Brave New World. any comments?
AFJ. I read this book as a teenager - the title is a quote from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The book was written in the 1930s and is set in the year 2540 and explores how society has changed over the centuries. It’s kind of sci-fi with social commentry. Give it a try - if you don’t like it, then at least you’ll know why. (The title quote is interesting - Miranda, Prospero’s daughter, was seeing some total idiots for the first time, and thought they were wonderful - she says “O wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world! That has such people in’t!”
I was reading the fourth book when they were just about to board the cloud scudder but I thought it was burned by the sourcer king. Why is it still there not in pieces?I thought they burned it down.
AFJ. Kira - The Cloud Scudder came back together at the same time as the Royal Palace when Tania got that big energy boost from Oberon and reconstructed all the damage done by the Sorcerer King.
So if everything got repaired does that mean so did Sancha library and the soul books and the pages that tania tore out did it come back together with the rest of King Oberon’s soul book? Also, mr.jones i didn’t mean to give thing away i just meant its cool that you do that and will you let us know when your starting to do that? (probably near the release date right?)
AFJ. Yes, Evangeline - all the damage caused during the Sorcerer King’s reign was put right. And I promise, as soon as I know what I’m going to do, I’ll let you people know.
