Well, it’s finally happened - book 5 of the Faerie Path trilogy (???) should now be in the stores in its hardback form. (I also think book 4: The Immortal Realm is due out in paperback at the same time).
I received a couple of copies of the book last week, and for the first time, I was able to sit down and read it through without needing to - or being able to - change anything.
One of the things that drives an author a little bit crazy on the first read-through of a newly published book, is when they spot things that could have been better - and it’s too late to change them!!!
These are usually only small things - descriptions that I think I could have written better - dialogue that could have been tweaked a bit to improve it, etc - but after a whole year of tweaking and polishing, it’s too late now. It’s now up to you guys to let me know whether you like the book - whether I’ve done a good job with it or not.
I hope you’ll get back to me about The Enchanted Quest - but can I ask one favour, please? If you want to say something specific about the plot -could you write to me via the contact page? I’d really like to avoid posting any plot spoilers online right now - at least for a few months.
On other subjects, I’ve just heard back from the American publishers about my storylines for Warrior Princess book 4 - and the good news for me is that they like the way the book is going! They had a few thoughts and suggestions, but on the whole, I’ve been given the green light to get writing. So, that’s my work sorted for the next two and a half months - writing Warrior Princess 4. It doesn’t have a title yet, but I’m sure one will pop up at some point!
GREAT I FIND THE FANCLUB WEBSITE AND IT’S BROKEN! NOOOOOO anyways i put up posters at school and town saying ‘Read The Faerie Path Series By Frewin Jones’ soon all of California will know about them.=D Man i wanna have a club about the book but all my friends are busy……
haha thanks Daniela! and mr.jones, i totaly agree with you on kresten stewart and robert pattinson too, and twilight is accually a good exsample of how they get it wrong although i can understand what you are saying. it might spread the word and get people a interested in the book too but i guess i just really dont want to see this series messed up with movie. i prob dont have a clue bout any of this but thats just how my mind thinks
well i spead the word out by putting up posters and such at school and town
ya i totally agree. liz u opened up my mind an i hope that they will nbot make it into a movie
daniela thanks cuz i was wondering if i was going crazy there for a moment! haha
I would be afraid they would ruin the movie….but I think it would be a great well to get people to buy Allan’s books, and who knows?! It could get as big as twilight!
AFJ. As big as Twilight? Wow! If that happened I’d need to hire a couple of you guys to deal with the fan mail. Anyone like the idea of that - spending 12 hours a day answering Faerie Path fan mail?
i would! how many fans do u have allan?
AFJ. How many fans? I really don’t know - I guess I could add up all the sales of my books and come to a total of quite a few thousand - but the problem with that is that the same person might buy several books, or just one book, or fans might borrow books from friends or from libraries or hand them around their family. (I get mail from moms who have read their daughters copies, and from grans, and aunts, too!) I think the only answer I can give is that I have enough fans for the Publishers to keep putting out my books right now - and that on average I get between 5 and 10 fan mails a day - but again, not always from different people. Not helpful, huh?
wow if your series go as big as twilight that would be awsome!!!! that would mean that you would be selling enough books that you could continue writing the sieres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
these books are 10 times better than twilight! keep writting allan!
Both my mom and myself are in love with the Faerie Path series, but we both have to tell in a loving way, that you are going to kill us with the wait for the sixth book. The Enchanted Quest was so amazing, but the end nearly gave me a heart attack at the thought of not being able to continue. So in a bittersweet way thank you.
AFJ. Allie - I’m sorry about being responsible for you and your mom being killed by waiting - but I’m going to plead for mercy! I don’t have any say at all in when the books come out - that’s decided by the publisher. If it were up to me, I’d let the books out the day after I finish them!
SHAME ON THE PUBLISHERS!!!!!!! SHAME I SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
