If any of you have a cat, you’ll recognize the behaviour! Apart from the baseball bat, the Cat-Man-Do one is exactly how Siouxsie behaves in the early morning!
By the way, while you’re here, I’ve been asked why I didn’t draw Tania along with her sisters - it was partly because I ran out of time, and partly because she already appears on the covers of the books. But if I had the time, are there any other characters from Faerie that you’d like me to draw?
I kind of want to see how you imagined Lord Aldritch and Gabriel…

It would cool if you could draw Titania and Oberon and the sisters husbands,and maybe cordelia and bryn’s wedding portrait. I’d love to see them surronded by all the animals and their wedding clothes.

That’s hilarious. I’ve never seen those before. But, yes, being a cat owner, myself, I do recognize the cute little quirks of a cat. But, this one is wild… haha! Mine is so tame in comparison. Especially with the fly.. haha!

mr.jones i wanted to ask you something about england, at my school we do this fair type thing where you are assighned a contrie and have to do research on all sorts of diff stuff like the history of that country and all sorts of other stuff, well i was asighned England (it was the one i REALY wanted too)! ive have always been a fan!

AFJ. Liz - no, I didn’t mean I drew the girl on the covers - all I meant was that you all already had a visual of Tania, so I didn’t draw my own version, whereas you had no idea of the others, so I did draw them.
I’d be happy to help out if I can with your England thing, liz, why don’t you mail me from the contact page with some questions you’d like answered, and I’ll see what I can do?

Ok quick question. I was rereading The Sorcerer King today. At the battle scene, I was wondering what their armor was made out of, in since they couldn’t have metal?
AFJ. Zoey - the Faerie armour is made from several different things. It can be made from a strange substance called “naikar”, found in the sea off the coast of Talebolion - it looks like shell with a mother-of-pearl interior, and is very hard. They also use thick dried strips of leather sewn together, and a kind of chain mail made from tiny overlapping discs of white crystal.They also use a whiteish-translucent substance called keratyn, which can be made into strips and when heated becomes quite “plastic” and can be moulded into specific shapes - this, too is very hard.
But they do not go into battle “fully-armoured” like middle ages knights - they will wear breastplates and helmets, and sometimes arm-guards and leg-guards, but otherwise they favour lighter clothing to allow them to be more mobile.

Is the girl on the cover of the books how you picture Tania?
AFJ. Shannon - she pretty much is, although I had her cheekbones a little higher and wider in my head, and her mouth wider, I think. And although the cover pix are great, I actually picture her a little less dreamy and wispy and with green eyes that go right through you when she looks at you.
wow thats all most excactly how i picture her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i all so see more of a hart shaped face and with gold fleckes in her eyes!
Mr. Jones, I just thought of something as I was staring at the cover of The Faerie Path. When Tania/Anita was in the bathroom at the hospital and grew her wings and then lost them, was that the Fearie part of Tania becoming immortal again since Anita was a mortal?
AFJ. That’s an interesting question, Christina. Here’s the thing: did that flying sequence really happen or was it some kind of really vivid dream? What do you think? It’s kind of hard to imagine it was ALL in her mind…so how did it work if it was real? For instance, how did she get out of the bathroom and into Faerie? And how did she get back again when her wings withered away? Maybe “dream” is the wrong word to descibe what was happening - what she was seeing. Maybe it was something else?

I always pictured Tania with a lot more fiery color in her hair.
AFJ. Hey, Zoey - I like that idea - that is really cool! Consider yourself presented with an invisible AFJ Gold Star. And I was going to say that I thought Tania’s hair was more fiery, too.
I was wondering… could age not be the only reason that Tania said no to Edric’s proposal? Could she just have been afraid of going through the Hand-Fasting Ritual again after doing the ritual with Drake? Did she think it would bring back too many bad memories?
