It’s been suggested that The Faerie Path could be made into an animated movie. Does anyone like this idea, or do you all prefer live-action? And if animated, should it be line-drawing or computer animated like Shrek? And who should do the voice-overs?
Oh, and while I’m here - I’ve been asked where Tania and Edric get their cell-phones from in the The Lost Queen. I haven’t read the book for years - but I know many of you will have read it more recently. I think Tania just picks hers up from home - and Edric gets his from where he lives - is that correct?
Quick update: I’m now two thirds through book six: “The Charmed Return.” And I’ve added more of my artwork to the Fan Club site.
I don’t think the movie should be animated, it should be live-action.
EWWWWWW!!!!!! Never that would ruin it when they made Narnia into an animated film at first, it was terrible!

i think that if it is anamited that it should be like shrek was. and wouldnt edric have gotten a cell phone when he first came to the mortal realm when he was looking for tania?

AFJ. I’m kind of going along with you guys re the animation - I like animation fine - but live action is better now they have all that CGI stuff (I’d LOVE to see the Royal Palace in CGI!) They also made an animated movie of Lord of The Rings years ago - I have it on DVD and it’s okay - but nothing like as good as the new movies, which, by the way Claudia and I are watching right now on DVD - all three, back to back! We like to do that once a year if we can.
What do you guys think would be the most awesome thing for CGI in any Faerie Path movie? I’d love to see the Cloud Scudder in full flight - and I guess the fight between the sisters and the Sorcerer King would be pretty spectacular. And the gray knights crashing through the window at the Law Firm - I’d like to see that.
i would love to see the cloud scudder in full flight too that would be awsome and i think that they should start out making it live action and th.en if that goes good then make it animation

The tapestries would look totally awesome in CGI. As well as the battles and the amber prisons. So cool…
oh thats a funny coincidence! I watched the Lord of the Rings today too. And I’d go with live action for the FP movie, too. I think that Crystalhenge and Passion Meadows would be really pretty in CGI.
Live Action.I would like to see the Royal Palace in real life not animated, but The drawings on the walls should be animated.
I completely agree with you, Allan. Live action would be best. And I would love to see the Cloud Scudder and the gray knights would be so cool. I would think it would be like Pirates of the Caribbean with the skeletons…

LIVE-ACTION!!!!! I am sorry but if it is animatied it will b ruined! (i belive!!) plez don’t let your amazing book be tourtued like so many other book that have been made into flims by animating it. O and if u r going 2 make a movie plez i beg of u stick to ur book and don’t let the flim makers play w/ it to much.

i definately think it should be live action first. animating it first would just ruin it. unless its after its made in live action. and it sticks to the book. so i hope if there is a movie its made in live action.
i just hope that know body will see the movie and then read the book and be disapontied that the movie was diff cuz they cant make the movie excacly the same it would be to long. cuz one of my friends watched the twilight movie but then she read the book and was so upset that it was not like the movie that she refused to read the reast of the series! i dont want anyone to do that cuz they just get better with every book! thats one of the many reasons your my fav writer mr.jones!
I know books are always better. That never fails, Bridge to Terabithia, Twilight and the chronicles of narnia. All of those movies were nothing compared to the books. I just hope that this movie will stay close to the book.
But come on it would be cool if it was made into a T.V Series. I know this one series that is new, it’s now a T.V Series. The Vampire Diaries. it is so good!!! after just seeing one show i already want to read them. Mr. Jones how hard is it to be made into a T.V Series??? and which would you prefer, T.V or Movie???
AFJ. Oh! I’d never thought of a TV series - I really have no idea at all how hard it is to get a series for TV greenlit - but I do know that they get cancelled really quickly if they aren’t pulling in big numbers of viewers. I think I’d prefer a movie - a TV series would probably need a bunch of different 40 minute stories, and I’m not sure that would work as well as the books - but I’m open to thoughts and comments from all you guys. Would you rather see movies that more or less follow the books, or would you like a TV series of different, much shorter stories?
I think a movie would be much better. It should not be animated. Usually only children movies are animated and i think it would be cool if a variety of fans could be in the movie. That would be cool.
it should follow the book closely. I have started to write a book about a girl who sees ghost.
i really dont know i like both ideas but i have to say i hated the vampire diaries! i just am not a big fan about vampire stuff after reading twilight it seems wrong!
AFJ. I’ve never read any vampire books - but I do love vampire movies. I remember watching the really really old ones on TV when I was a kid - Bela Lugosi as Dracula. Then later, I watched the ones that came out in the 1960s starring Christopher Lee (Saruman). There’s a good Gary Oldman one from a few years later - and a totally scary one that came out quite recently called Let The Right One In. That’s one of my favourites now. So…is the Twilight movie good?
Twilight is okay. But the movie was weird because it left out alot of stuff that was important from the book.
Eh. Not really. and Liz what do you mean after reading twilight it seems wrong. Twilight isn’t right either. just because something is written doesn’t always mean that it’s right. i could right a best selling book about how vampires are just like regular people with powers. does that make it right or wrong. No it doesn’t make it right, or wrong. it just means that’s my opinion. Vampires are just a figment of peoples imagination, just like fairies, and mermaids, and elves, etc.
I am going to stop talking now.
AFJ. The daughter of friends of mine has locked herself in her room with the Twilight books and hardly ever comes out. She’s also a big fan of Faerie Path, but I haven’t dared ask which she prefers!
lol and i guess that your right addie but in my “mind” vampires are just like regular people but they can smell, hear, and see really well and there is that whole drinking blood thing…oh and in my mind they can bleed get sick and even have a hart beat. i know that sounds really weird but i have a large immagination…. and the twilight movie is prety good but the books are WAY better!!!!
Live action. If this becomes a movie, animation would totally ruin it because the readers have probably in their minds chosen an actor who could play anyone of the characters or have drawn up what they think the character is like and doesn’t want to be told, “this is the character and what it looks like.”

i dont think anaimation would be good, live action? YES!!! the only things that are animated now a days are small childrens movies, but i do think there should be a movie!!!
not ALL anaimated movies are for children!!!!! dont judge anything on where it is animated or not!!!! thats just like judging a book by it cover!! for exsample i would have never read twilight if i judged it by its cover because i think that books about flowers are boring but if you read the back it makes more scince!!!!
let’s see the Prince of Egypt dealt with real world problems most likely not what parents want their children to be watching. Also if your suggesting that most live action movies are for not kids, high school musical, Homeward Bound, Mary Poppins, Nanny Mcphee, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe are mostly kid movies……….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…………….
And also Twilight is ironic. one of the books i was reading, it might have been one of the faerie path books…???…well it said twilight, new moon, eclipse, breaking dawn(one of those) more then it said in the whole twilight series…!!!…it is VERY IRONIC, and WEIRD, ETC.

By the way liz i do not like the Vampire Diaries “Series” the author created Elena to be a total B****** Queen Bee of the School, i didn’t read the series but i am in LOVE WITH THE TV SERIES

I would prefer live-action but all I want is a movie so I would have no problem with cartoon. But if cartoon then at the computer. But I dont know if theres someone who could draw Tania really good. So …I dont know, I just want a movie and when Allan thinks its good, then I will too!!!
